Myles Traveled is a great story. It’s an inspirational story. It’s the American Dream.”

July 19, 2014, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Kansas City, Missouri: It all started in Kansas City. Thus, that seemed a fitting place to launch the book. On Saturday afternoon, Bill and Lorita set up in the Lobby of The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Don Motley, Bill’s baseball coach and first Executive Director of the Negro Leagues Museum, was there. Several of Bill‘s former players were there. Robert Wedgeworth, book contributor and former University Librarian for the University of Illinois was around. Jim Bufford, who plays a prominent role in the book, was in town. Many of those important to Bill saw it fit to show up! The book was not yet in full print, but the publisher managed to get Bill 50 advance copies. Those 50 copies sold out in one hour! Myles Traveled was launched!
